All Beliefs are Welcome Here!

Okay...so I'm seriously addicted to Mantracker...and seriously thinking of sending in an application to be on the show! I think it would be a great personal challange...that I seriously have to train for! So from now, I'm giving myself until this time next year (I don't want to do it in the winter, and I'm too out of shape to even stand a chance as I am now!) ...I want to start building up endurance and stamina, and maybe even do a few "trial" runs in Rouge Valley trails, obviously without someone on my tail. lol Now, I just need to find the perfect partner for the journey!!

From what I've seen of the show, the rules are rigged against, so that they can sell the show. For example, the destination is know to the tracker and a time limit is placed on how long you have to get there. These rules greatly limit your options and give the tracker a lot of advantage in projecting your potential routes. Similarly, the terrain is chosen so the tracker can ride his horse, increasing his mobility. There never appear to be LARGE areas available where the prey can move and the tracker cannot, forcing the tracker to spend large amounts of time going around. Lastly, and no offense meant ;-} I'd like to know how they hide the guy(s) with the cameras from the tracker's view.

Just a few thoughts.

Acutally, I always wondered about the camera guy too. lol From what I've seen on the website, it's like they're just pretty much everywhere...the guy that follows the prey is dressed in camo, but his camera is still big and black, so I don't really know for sure. I know there's always camera guys with and around the tracker...I wish I knew how it was all set up, but they don't show/tell that much on the site. I still think it would be something fun to try...a good challange. :)
