I offer readings using an oracle which I felt called to devise. It uses nature based images and ideas from the Scottish countryside. I believe the reading results are best used for meditation/contemplation, as a way of gaining a fresh perspective on questions or situations presented by the querent. I am also currently exploring reading for couples, business partners or other pairings and small groups of individuals. In these cases it is important that all concerned are open to the idea of the reading, and involved in it. There is great potential for mutual insight in these cases.

Readings via phone or email. Payment is entirely on a Pay-What-You-Can basis via PayPal.

A happy and blessed New Year to all!

How about a free New Year's reading for a fellow Pagan?:):):) Here.

Theresa - well, maybe just this once, for a fellow poet! I'll tell you how it works, and then you tell me if you still want a reading, okay? Ask your question, or ask for a general reading. Three cards - 1 - your current situation 2 - your destination  3 - your journey. The reading will give you material to contemplate for a deeper understanding of the situation and your place within it. No tall dark strangers or travel plans will be predicted!

Cool! I'd like to read your poetry!

And...

A general reading is great:)

Thanks!

I'll have a think about where you can read one of my poems without having to join something first! If not, I'll try to post something on this blog, soon. ...(trundles off to get cards...)

The way to get the best from this reading, I believe, is to center yourself with a few moments of meditation or whatever works for you before reading it. Keep in mind that it is not advice, as such, nor a prediction. Think of it as a way to take a fresh or a deeper look at something. Your situation, your question, yourself or another person. Think about this reading over the next few days or weeks, whenever you have some quiet time, and feel free to come back to me and ask for clarification. (PM if you prefer) When you're ready, here goes...

The first card, which represents your current situation is the Shetland Pony - Something thought to be childish is entirely misunderstood. Fear may be mistaken for stubbornness.

The second card, describing your destination (in whatever time frame or area you were thinking of when you asked me to read) is the Working Sheepdog - There is a tendency to jump the gun, be overly sensitive or over enthusiastic. A trustworthy leader will be a great asset in channeling boundless energy in a useful direction.

The third card, which refers to your journey between the current situation and your destination is the Foxglove - Understand the beauty you regard before you partake of it. That which strengthens your heart can also harm you if taken at the wrong time or in too great a quantity.

Think about the above for a few moments. Maybe re-read it and notice any intuitive impressions that come to you.

Now, I'll add some background material on these three images. These may give you some clarification on things, or you may decide to go back to your first impressions. Give it a few days, or more, of quiet contemplation.

The Shetland Pony describes a situation where there is a misunderstanding - either by you, or of you or of some wider situation. Something is thought to be childish, perhaps someone is belittled or patronised. This is far from the truth. Their is wisdom in what is being done or felt. The second aspect is self explanatory, I think. Sometimes people won't change their behaviour because of fear - perhaps they are stuck, even feel paralysed - rather than stubbornness. These two misunderstandings may be related - or not. Sometimes, even the one acting stubborn doesn't realise that they are scared, they just stop trying.

Foxglove tells of your transition or learning experience as you move forward from this state. Foxglove is  lovely flowering plant, and a very useful one in herbal medicine. It is the source of digitalis, a drug used to treat heart problems. Foxglove is also poisonous if misused or if eaten by grazing animals (who usually have more sense, but it happens). The message is don't be misled by a beautiful appearance. Understand what you are dealing with and things will be fine.

The Working Sheepdog (think Border Collie) is an interesting card in the position of destination. I can't say whether you are the wildly enthusiastic and highly sensitive type or not. This may describe you, or you may be the one to take the role of the trusted leader to someone else's trigger happy enthusiasms! Either way, it describes a great work relationship or some other partnership, and the potential to be very effective as one party is calmed and given focus and discipline while the other gets a lot of help to get their work done! Literally or metaphorically? You'll just have to wait and see!

Happy New Year!

Kris
