poem 1 - Forever

By midnight’s starlight

Your eyes twinkled even in the darkest of times

Your soul was adamant

You never faltered in your beliefs or your feelings

 

Not even nature’s fury could withstand your power

In all my life I have never seen you so weak

And now you lie there helpless

Surrounded by neglect and hate

 

You blood fights amongst itself

Your heart bleeds tears of torment

Everyday you fight for your life

Everyday I feel you slip farther away from me

 

Your body is failing

My heart is breaking

But when you finally pass into the land of gods

You will always live in my heart forever.
