Sliding in with a cloud of dust and clamor of .... fly farts?
Wow, it's been a heck of a ride this spring and summer.
I've been working a full time job which is keeping me out 6 to 7 days a week, all working from home. I get so blasted tired that I don't care about anything but closing my eyes and resting when I get home. I worked this morning, but took off at 10 am local because I just didn't feel like going on more. I've not had a day off in around 25 to 27 days... I've lost count.
At any rate, for anyone who's still around from last winter, things with Frank smoothed out when we got him into a nursing home. Then, while there, they decided that he was going to go on hospice care because of multiple mini stokes which they could not control. Now, last month, someone came along and determined that he no longer qualified for hospice care at the nursing home.
Let me examine this for a minute.... Hospice Care, by virtue of it's general description, is service where a dying person is made comfortable, and the dying person's family is comforted. There is no treatment for the illness/injury, just maintenance for what is needed to create a comfortable state.
Now, knowing that he was put ON hospice care to begin with, and now they say he no longer qualifies, I have to wonder about the following: Was the first diagnosis incorrect when they put him on in the fist place? Were the treatments they were giving him causing the strokes, because now that they have stopped treating him, he's doing better?
The overall bottom line, is in fact, the bottom line. The nursing home, in their wiley way, have determined that his wife is going to have to pay over 4000.00 a month when he comes off of Hospice. She cannot afford that, so she is thinking he is going to be coming back home. For those of you who recall all the brown showers from THAT ... well you know how I feel about it.
She's supposed to have a meeting w/ the caseworkers and doctors on Thursday to get a final determination. If it turns out he is going to come home, I am in agreement w/ Jan that I should move out and into a motel for a couple of months. Frank is second on a list to the local VA Home. Ultimately, that means we are waiting for an expansion of facilities which is not in the works, or for two people to die just to get him on so that we can concentrate on keeping things together here.
Shrugs, at any rate, as I had mentioned in a blog sometime ago, it's always about this time of year I begin to become more active in thought and studies regarding my path... so here I am. I'll be in, and out as time goes on. If I wind up in the hotel, I may be on more often.. who knows.
I truly hope everyone is well and good. I see messages from Bob, and I see Indigo posting away in her group (GO GIRL!), I hear from Crystal Raven from time to time, but my thoughts are with her always. Have not heard from Lady Cullen.. hope you are well too LC.
