This week here on The Spiral Dance, it's all about "Floriography"- the Language of Flowers!
Interest in floriography soared in Victorian England and in the United States during the 19th century, but Meaning has been attributed to flowers for thousands of years.
And so, for springtime, lets look at the magick of 3 springtime flowers; the rose, the tulip, and the dandelion.
Also, while the Snowdrop is more a HARBINGER of spring rather than a Spring Flower, I have a traditional story from Hans Christian Anderson called, The Snowdrop - it's a good story all year round!
Be well. Do good. Enjoy the show!
Some of the music you'll hear on this weeks show include The Inkspots: "My Wild Irish Rose"; Hot Club of Cowtown: "Forget Me Nots"; DeDannon: "The Banks of Red Roses"; ShoeShine Boy: "Atlantis Morning Glory March"; Talking Heads: "Nothing But Flowers" and more.
DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY?
Maybe you've composed a new poem and would like to hear it on the radio. If you want to submit audio to The Spiral Dance, send me an email. There are basically no rules - just no harsh language, no commercial self-promotion and no Christian-bashing. Please let me know what you think about the show.
