"What's in it for me??" this was a statement made by a client's daughter recently when she bought her a gift certificate for a Reiki Attunement, she went on to say "Will it make me happier? Will it fix my life?" Her mother came to me speechless. Mind you the daughter is 22 years old!
Any kind of spiritual healing or guidance will not work if you're not open to receive. I cannot "fix" you. I am merely a channel for the energy to be directed from the source to the recipient. With an attitude like that, "What's in it for me?" merely sets you backwards, not forwards on the road to spiritual healing.
We must be open vessels to receive the blessings that are abundant and always around us. In order to receive that, we must go from "What's in it for me??" to "I would like to welcome Spirit into my life. What ways can I better myself?"
It starts with self-love. From self-love and respect, love and respect from others follows. Only when the bones are "hollow" can you be a vessel for the healing to begin.
