When you realize how deep your love runs

Sheldon and I have been together for seven years. We've never gotten married which is okay, I love him and think he's a great companion. We go in tomorrow for the results of his test for leukemia. Since learning about this, I have realized how deep my love for him really is. The little things have all been pushed aside in hopes that love can heal. I hope he can be cured. In the mean time, I've been thinking perhaps we should get married. If he were to die, I would love to be able to at least keep his last name in his memory. I love you, Sheldon.

Comment by Sagemoon on October 8, 2012 at 6:32pm: Thank you, Senara. Sheldon has MCL leukemia and will need to take medication every day for the rest of his life if he wants to live. It hurts watching him struggle with his emotions. I hope you are feeling well these days.

Comment by Sagemoon on October 12, 2012 at 11:06am: The doctor said chemo was the old way to treat CML. Now they have three meds to choose from. The one he has a sample of now doesn't seem to be causing any significant side effects. However, he needs to watch bleeding, bruising, and being around sick people. We spent the week together and he was ready to go back to work today. I think he's getting used to the idea that he's terminally ill. Now we just have to hope we can afford his meds. In the meantime, he got a new puppy which I think will give him a reason to live happily. We are waiting to judge the benefits of double insurance by marriage or assistance due to his one income. He would be happy for me to have my last name changed to his, though, if we do not marry.
