Bushwalking is the Aussie term for hiking in nature, yes. We call native forest 'the bush'. ;)

Yes, we have lots of snakes and deadly things here but as with most wildlife, if you tread carefully and treat creatures with respect then you have little chance of getting hurt. The bush is a very peaceful place, and has been most kind to me.
