Interesting. Do you mind if I ask what your concept of God is in general? Pagan is pretty broad. I would also think they have a fair amount of free will, but that's only a guess as I've not, knowingly, interacted with an angel.
The two don't have to be at odds in the least. I don't remember the name of the person you were discussing it with, but her background seemed to be the only form of Christianity she would accept as Christian. Which is a shame.
The whole reason I found that thread was because I was doing a search on angels. To be honest, I haven't given them much of a thought. Then, recently, they were brought to my attention and I was curious how my generally Crone/Dark Moon focused path would mesh with angels. If you have any insight I'd be more than happy to hear what you have to say.
So this is five years late, but I just found, and read, a thread where you were arguing it's okay if people wish to mix Christianity and Wicca. (Or any belief systems actually) Thank you for doing that. Although I don't myself, I know those who do and it's disheartening (and annoying af) when they're told they can't believe aspects of each faith. As if it was all or nothing with either. :(
Anyway, thank you for trying to educate those who don't understand.
I think I'm already following you on Facebook, but I'll double check. Are there active communities on Facebook that talk about Aztec reconstructionism or Aztec myth and history? Or anywhere else?
I seem to be late to the party, but I am pulled to Tezlacopita. I understand him to be more complex even than just " trickster god" or " malevolent god". I've read in a gender studies themed book that he was regarded as a god of lust and very masculine, but never took a consort. Also god of Fate, and the one who placed souls in the womb. Of course there's the sorcery aspect.
I have many questions.
