Let's start by finding out what kind of man he was, and knowing that I can perhaps make some prescription suggestions. Different personalities are reached with different techniques, and focusing on the person, and what he would find attractive is the logical starting point... Then working from there, you experiment and refine until your goal is reached.

The fact that he has shown up once or twice may be due to the fact he is trying to reach out to you and either comfort or console you. From what you have said, he loves you very much.

At my grandmother's funeral I felt her presence as well as that of my great grandmother (never met). I felt much better after knowing that my grandmother was well set on her new path.

I have a few friends who do work in the paranormal community. One of the big things is EVPs. You may want to try it. Have a tape recorder on hand at all times. When you feel his presence, sit down with it and start the tape recorder. Talk to your grandfather. Tell him how you feel and work towards that closure. Later, when his presence has left you, play back the tape. You may find he has answered.

my grandfather was a wonderful man. He was practical, down to earth, worked his way out of a poor family to a middle class house in New Jersey. He was warm, affectionate, passionate, driven and supportive. Always waiting for us with cokes, ice cream sandwiches and lots of steak.:) There's been some less then positive developments as of late and I need just a moment to ask a question or two.

I have no reason to apologies to him. Not if what I hear is true. He cut my side of the family out because my mother married a man of her choice and not his. Even the grandchildren whose crime seemed to be being born. I know I'll have to make peace with this at some point but right now I'm just more upset. They seemed to like us, play with us, for years. I can only assume it was all some elaborate set up.

Uh...What makes you think it was something SHE said? Grandparents make mistakes TOO, you know. It wasn't her fault.
