When it comes to recording the human voice, nothing beats using a studio-quality vocal microphone. I don't really like the sound quality of a computer-based microphone. I'd recommend buying an inexpensive, USB recording interface, and a nice mic. Check out musiciansfriend.com, and serach for "podcast". It should bring a good starter kit.
The mic I'll be using for my podcast is the Senheiser e945. I have the advantage of already having a small recording studio set up, that I use for my music (www.myspace.com/jeffmartinezbassist). Let me know if there's any way I can help. :)
