Favorite Books: pleasureyourpage I read a lot. In general: sci-fi/fantasy (leaning more towards fantasy), books about the outdoors, post-apocalyptic fiction, 'educational' books. More specifically: _The Wheel of Time_ series by Robert Jordan; _Tailchaser's Song_ and the _Otherworld_ trilogy by Tad Williams; _Lucifer's Hammer_; _Dies the Fire_, _The Protector's War_, and _Meeting at Corvallis_ by S.M. Stirling; _The Illiad_ and _The Oddessey_ by Homer; _Scraping Heaven_; _Guns, Germs, and Steel_ by Jared Diamond; _Journey to the Ants_; Pern series by Anne McCaffrey. Lately, I've been collecting books about homeschooling, spirituality, and the Druids. I'm currently taking a break from _The Inner Temple of Witchcraft_ by Christopher Penczak and am just beginning _The Earth Path_ by Starhawk. I highly recommend both of them!

Beliefs / Practices: Spiritual but not Religious, Pagan

Hobbies: Like most people, I have a wide variety of interests: my children; reading (a lot!); nature and being outdoors; tattoos; making and using prayer beads; making jewelry; playing around with my container garden; exploring different types of music, cultures (past and present), and spiritual beliefs; meditation; taoism; learning the interpret the tarot cards; cooking (I especially enjoy making soup); drinking hot tea; learning Brazilian Portuguese; expressing my creative side; learning the edible and medicinal uses of herbs; archeology and anthropology; people watching; taking the 'scenic route'.

So last night I wanted to do a ritual. I haven't had a chance to do a nightly ritual for almost a week now ~ much to my frustration. Regardless of my intentions, last night was the not the night to do a ritual, unfortunately. My little guy decided he didn't want to go to sleep right away. Okay, so I'm not one to see signs or omens in every little thing. And I'm not one to jump on the bandwagon just to be like everyone else. Blessed Samhain

Kind of appropriate; I found this site on Samhain. Not portentious or anything, but interesting.

I have a lot of spiritual goals for the coming year ~ my main focus is just to deepen my spirituality and have it play a more meaningful part in my life. There are many ways I wish to go about accomplishing my goal: release negativity, maintain a daily spiritual practice which includes meditation, celebrate the full and new moons, and celebrate the eight major Holy Days.
