Part of my creative "thing" is to cross stitch. And last night, as a chapter opening for a book I'm reading, I came across this part of a larger poem by Robert Louis Stevenson... And am now thinking of turning it into a witchy sampler as I thought it apt.
Rest of the poem isn't that bad either, but this is the part I'm keeping:
I will make you brooches and toys for your delight…

My family and I went and picked apples from an empty lot down the street. We plan on making apple butter out of them. I know you were asking about that and I wanted to share. I will definately let you know how that recipe works.

Keegan
Funny though, I get constantly teased because I sometimes fit the description of a "school marm" or a librarian. Hmm... even so its just me.
I look forward to more chats with you.

Keegan

It's a shame that people run a mile on finding out you are Pagan. I find that ironic because we mainly tend to keep to ourselves because paganism is just how we live - like our ancestors who, for them, Paganism was how they lived, and they observed the year's celebrations within the context of their belief-systems and social norms - not to mention enjoying spiritual connection and fulfillment. EVERYONE was Pagan until Christianity arrived and then you were basically annihilated if not physically then socially, if you were not one of the 'flock'. I'm not Christian bashing, many Christian's are lovely people. Actually I would venture to say that a lot of the anti-Pagan types aren't really religious, they're simply biased, prejudiced and intolerant - not to mention paranoid because they are mis-informed but do not venture to enlighten themselves!
At least Pagans are becoming more prolific although the Church still labels us as 'evil'. I've read snippets of interviews of different religious movements and, although they try to at first appear tolerant of our existemce, they usually can't help themselves by eventually declaring we on a one way trip to hell. If you look up PAN Inc., NSW online you'll be able to follow the links to these reports - hopefully they're still on there! I was trying to cheer you up there at first! Sorry about that!
Oh well, we Pagans have to stick together - we're not going away so the biased majority is going to have to get used to us. We are all kinds of professions and walks of life so they're bound come across us on a regular basis whether they like it or not! THAT makes my day!
BTW, it's great that you have a bent sense of humour! Mine is quite black because I've faced so many traumas in my life (especially my health), and I can't help but laugh at the dark - It's been a wonderful survival tool!
Take care, Dear Banksia. I shall endeavour to do the same!
Sandra
