About Me:
I'm a single (and looking. wink wink nudge nudge) Heathen located in central NJ.
I'm into hiking, camping, cooking, wood/stone carving, Galdrar, germanic studies among many other things. I'm an outdoorsman at heart and love the adrenalin rush of free climbing. I belong to the Pinelands Association and love to learn about the local NJ ecology. I am in recovery and take a heathen viewpoint of it. I see spirituality and the presence of the gods in nature. Thusly, I have an affinity with the Wanes. I find that the Wanes are under studied if they aren't completely ignored. I'm grounded yet playful. Does that make me "playgrounded"? I love dry humor, funny sarcasm (not scathing sarcasm) and ridiculous humor. Monty Python, Drawn Together, Shawn of the Dead, George Carlin...I find them all hilarious.

I've been a practicing Heathen for most of my life and have facilitated numerous workshops in Central NJ on the runes and Germanic beliefs including a workshop at New Jerseys Pagan Pride Day.
Favorite Books
The Poetic Edda, Celtic Myth and Legend, the Lord of the Rings, Into the Wild, Nietzsche, Ivanhoe, Dune, Victor Hugo, good ol Snorri, the Otherworld trilogy by Tad Williams, Isaac Asimov, Carl Sagan, Camus, Huxley, the Mabinogion, The Real Mother Goose, Muir, Emerson, the list ranges from classics to Sci-fi. The Nibelungenleid, Volsungasaga.
Beliefs / Practices
Heathen
Other Beliefs/Practices
I strive to lead my life by the Nine Noble virtues although sometimes I fall short. I'm not perfect and it's comforting to me to know that there is always room for improvement. It gives me something internal to constantly strive for.
Hobbies
I'm a big fan of hard rock and heavy metal. I mosh painted in woad with a big Tyr rune painted above my eyes and down my nose.
I'm also a big fan of Nordic and Celtic folk music.
No rap and some country.

I climb on everything! Trees, fences, rocks, playgrounds, mountains....if it can be scaled....I scale it. Hel, my profile pic is me in a tree. My animal spirits are a Squirrel and a Raccoon. Although, unlike Ratatosk, I tend to not hurl insults from the boughs of ash trees. :) I stomp in puddles, throw a mean snowball, wade through rivers on a whim, and walk in rain as nekkid as the law allows. ;P Spontaniety and having fun are important. The world is too serious and playing like a child is good for the soul.
Likes
a good sense of humor

as mentioned above...puddles to stomp in, trees/rocks/mountains to climb, snow to throw and LOTS of styrofoam peanuts to fill a friends car with through an open sunroof.
quiet time near the water
loud chicken fights in the water
skinny dipping ....these last can happen before or after the skinny dipping begins. ::::grin::::
I could go on and on...but I won't. I don't want people injuring their fingers on the scroll wheel of their mouse.

Woden's Namboc: The Many Names of Woden

Woden's Namboc Óðinn is a God whose depth and complexity are reflected in the multitude of names, titles, and descriptive kennings for Him that have survived from ancient times. He is far from merely being a God of battle, though unfortunately there are some who call themselves Heathens… Continue

Freyja: Lady of Love and Life

I did not write this article. It's original web content can be found here. http://www.hrafnar.org/goddesses/freyja.html Originally published in Sagewoman, Summer, 2002 Freyja Lady of Love and Life It is midnight in the far North of the world. The sun has gone down, but a gentle twilight still glows in the sky. You are dancing with your people around a bonfire. Music lifts your feet and your hearts-- a birch bark flute is lilting merrily, supported by the quick tap tap of a drum. When the musi… Continue

LMAO! Yep, perception is everything. That reminded me of one of my favorite cartoons - two giraffes walking by a fence with a hole in it, and one of them stoops to look in the hole to see the monkeys. The other one says, "You idiot." It's always how you look at it, hmmmm?
Smooches and hugs,

You are wise beyond your years!

Didn't the Norse have something akin to werewolves? Why do I remember reading something about that?

....and I have always been a fan of werewolves X^)

That is really cool :^)
I lean more towards clay when I have the time to work with it. Which I do this semester X^) I wasted 3 college hours I probably shouldn't have out of my schedule.
I also have to agree with you on that. I have a close friend that is a Heathen and its easier for the rest of us to find things that it is for him.

Well I'm glad you accepted :^)
I think Kafka had many 'issues' my professor and I had a conversation about him and I had brought up that I thought he might have some suicidal tendencies because of some of his stories. I know he went through a lot of medical problems and they tend to pop up quite a bit in his works...so why not other problems?

I'm glad I didn't turn in to a roach either *shudders*

We do have some common interests now don't we :^)
