MPC Picnic--Oxbow Park, Goshen IN

After many months of planning, yesterday was our Michiana pagan picnic at Oxbow Park in Goshen. It was a soggy day but the rain was deeply needed and it brought cooler temperatures at the end of a pretty hot week. Despite the rain, and perhaps because of it, we had just over 50 attendees...not bad for a first-time attempt to reconcile the breech in the pagan community. The fellowship was great! We had a couple completely new people who saw the flyer at a local bead store while the rest either h… Continue

Random Thots

As I walked to the mailbox last night, I thought about the different paths that the members of our circle are on. Even though we have come together as a group, we each have different paths which makes the circle eclectic and electric. So, as I was walking, I thought that each and every one of us has a theology or thealogy within us just aching to burst out. I'm not talking about the dogma of the church or temple; I'm referring to the theology/thealogy that was our birthright. This is the spiritu… Continue

Open or closed

About a year ago, I met a wonderful group of people with whom I started celebrating the sabbats. We formed an on-line group open to all who wanted to join and invited others who wanted to connect with us. However, we never anticipated a growth spurt that would jeopardize the dynamics of the sabbat groups. In addition, there were issues between some of our core group and those who were new. We had to make a decision to preserve the core group, to the exclusion of a couple of people who had expres… Continue

Anniversary thoughts

Tomorrow is my 29th wedding anniversary. When I think back, it doesn't seem possible that I am 29 years older or that I have adult children who are getting married this year. How does time, which at times seems to drag, fast forward a quarter of a century in a blink of an eye? Is this only a human phenomenom or does the animal kingdom experience it as well?

Pagan Night Out

Last night, we had a PNO at the local Barnes & Noble. Turn out was great, for an early February meeting. I really enjoy our friendships and the laughter kept me jazzed for the rest of the evening.

We set the date for Ostara--March 15th at Edgewood. I enjoy hosting the group--it seems that my house and property is just the right layout for Sabbats. Once it gets warmer, we can have Circle outside around the Mother Nature altar (stump of a hundred-year-old cherry tree that is full of…

Nancy-
I must say after reading "Nancy's Path," that my first thought was "RIGHT ON!" It really hit close to home for me. (By the way, your little card in
in the mail was so sweet! Thank you, I will make sure to tell Maizy For Peace that her first walk is from Nancy For Cookies!)
I can remember as far back as Cherubusco (I left there when I was 5) spending as much daylight as I could in the woods,
collecting buckeyes & being completely fascinated by walking sticks & locust shells. It was magical to me & I even had my own little fort,
an tiny old wooden, nearly collapsed shed with a dirt floor & surrounded by nothing but trees & vegetation. I loved it there & I was never scared to be alone when
I was tucked away from the rest of the world in my spot. I kept things in that little shed that meant something to me, including My Little Pony &
natural things I collected in the woods.I don't consider myself Wiccan either. Like you said, Wicca
is less than a century old. Nature goes a lot farther back than that.

Here you are! I can't wait until the picnic, I'm so excited. The thing about me having no true pagan support in my area is still true. So the picnic is a big deal to me!

Thank you so much for the list of reading material. The very first book I ever read about paganism when I was 14 was by Phyllis Curott - her book Witch Crafting. I'd like to have a copy of all of her books! Thanks again!

Hello Zeta♥
I've been having a hard time dealing with my moms sudden passing on March 30th & I've also been dealing with a little preaching from Christian friends since my mom's death. "I don't know how anyone who doesn't believe in & love Jesus finds peace in anything, or finds comfort in a time like this. Look to God!" This is just one of the e-mails I've received. I don't know what to do. I don't want to cut people out of my life because of a difference in beliefs!
♥Anne
PS My books are in the mail & I look forward to reading them!:
When God Was A Woman by Merlin Stone
The Once & Future Goddess by Elinor Gadon
A Book of Pagan Prayer by Ceisiwr Serith
Paganism: An Introduction to Earth- Centered Religions by Joyce Higginbotham
