Goth Over 40

Goth Over 40

Goth inside and out. We have held onto cherished goth trends of our time and have had some evolved ones grow on us.  We have paved the way for many new subcultures to grow while learning from the new who have arrived. We have spent a time learning what being a true rebel is and being true to ourselves. We are continuing to put a mark on the social history books.

The world was shocked as we exposed it to the poetry of the dark side. Now it is blown away how we are still shaping the future.

We are here to encourage one another to not lay down quietly and continue to let the world know what it is like being Goth Over 40. That being Goth is not the costume, but a deep yearning inside of the soul. Through personal expression and deep spiritual natures we open the world's minds.

Older than you think

While being over-forty might seem to put you at the edge of the beginning of the Goth subculture, the truth is that Goth is so much older than any of us. When I was only 6 (1967), John Stickney was…Continue

I have a question, or actually a favor, to ask. Does anyone know of any blogs, books, videos, etc about the positive and empowering sides of being Goth? How our evolving points of view have drastically made changes to the world? I am doing a project that includes this philosophy.

Thank you for your thoughts.

"How has symbols, magic, religions, and the mystics had an effect on the development of the Goth you are today?"

Wow, good question, I'm still trying to figure all that out.

Hi Kristi, in answer to your question regarding symbols :-

Years back it seemed that every goth I met was also pagan and wore large silver "upright" pentagrams as jewellery or on clothes.

Now it seems like a lot of manufactured clothing has large Xtian crosses on, which I think ruins the design.

I won't wear crosses on anything, neither will I have them in my home as it is Not my religion.

Hello all,

We made it over hump day. I have a question to ponder. How has symbols, magic, religions, and the mystics had an effect on the development of the Goth you are today? I have spent years studying these and love symbols in my decor and attire. Let me know.

Also here is a neat set of pics depicting alchemy.
