Boy oh boy was yesterday ever a crazy day for us. My twin six yr old boys started first grade and my daughter started kindergarten.
I woke up early in the morning and made pancakes with peanut butter, cool whip and syrup on top. Nothing like a good sugar rush to start the day. LOL The kids ate breakfast, we all got showered and dressed and headed out the door.
We got to the school and parking was a nightmare. I managed to squeeze my van on the corner parking… Continue

Kemetic thought for the day
To the extent that suffering awakens our empathy and causes us to connect with others, it can serve as the basis of compassion and love.

Been absent (again) for awhile...actually not absent just "inactive"...I've been here but haven't been doing much...little reading here and there. Just felt like saying hello to all my friends and I've really not forgotten about you and I do think of you. Full moons are a source of pleasure and calm for me, and I always think of my friends.
I hope you are all well and get in touch soon! Wanting to hear how all the animals are doing, the quiltmaking, and everything else you're all… Continue

I just wanted to post a quick note here to all my friends and those of you passing by in this lovely community. My friend and I have started a new group called "The Pagan Reading Room". We will be reading and discussing various books, mainly Pagan related, but we will also touch base in other genres as well.
If you cannot afford to buy new books, second hand stores, or the library may have the selections we have for the book of the month. So don't let lack of money keep… Continue

So apparently my parents decided that I outgrew both my camera and theirs.
So they bought me The Canon EOS 500D, Rebel T1i. Which basically means I have a brand new fricken AWESOME camera with 2 lenses, editing software and an 8GB mem card.
Went from a point and shoot in 2007 to a Canon..uh....something?? Its newer brother is pretty much the same, just with 20x zoom rather than 10x and much much cooler. Dad likes the bigger screen, but then he also got a 46in tv this year,… Continue

And Texas it truly is, there's no mistake. Hot humid air, warm oven breezes and too much sun. I wasn't expecting it to be quite this severe. But I love my new abode! An on campus apartment, two bedrooms with three other girls, a kitchen, living room and bathroom. The best part of all is being surrounded by the woods. I have trees all around me! Its simply lovely. Seeing the trees dappled with sun fills me with joy.
The culture is a bit...strange. And I absolutely despise my… Continue

Once upon a time there was a poor prince, heir to a small kingdom. Though, once he was mature for marriage, he thought his kingdom was big enough to court the emperors daughter. On his deceased fathers grave grew a rose bush, and it blossomed every fifth year only, yet those were the most exquisite roses and of such sweet scent that one who smelled it forgot all his sorrows and pain in an instant, or remembered his greatest joys. Also he owned a nightingale, and when it sung, one felt it was… Continue
