This is the Eve of the night I wait on all year. Its the only spare time I have found to sit and type to you for a long while. I'm sure things will calm down after Nov 1st but I can't be 100% certain of that. The Haunted Asylum has been doing ok, but not wonderful. Anything we are able to send these sick kids is great but to me its just not worth our time unless we bring them a nice chunk of change. We kicked it up a notch but it has not come without its fare share of drama for several… Continue

Fires of Love (Beltane) by Ian Thorpe

Fires of Love (Beltane) by Ian Thorpe

Embrace the purifying flame,

Throw off the cloak of inhibition.

Stoke the good fires of Beltane

And let the flames fuel love's fission.

The sun climbs high to summer glory,

Unfolds the leaf and swells the bud,

Delivering all of nature's dowry and a promise, now misunderstood.

From atom's heart

To human heart

Passes the vitalising flame

And in each nucleus a spark sets… Continue

Memetic Alchemy

This is a short series of Memetic Alchemical Ideas I wrote on the CoV bbs.

I will start by saying that I am not a scientist but a Atheist-mystic or if you will a Memetic-alchemist. All mysticism is founded by a three-fold interlocking praxis that varies according to tradition:

1)Orison/ Prayer (defined by many as an actively intentive penetrative interior state)

2) Recollection (defined as a subtle receptive state of interority opposite of the prayer… Continue

The Lull in the Storm

Things have quieted down with Mom's much so that I was sent home for a much needed break to reconnect, regroup, and refresh. The idea was for me to stay here through Samhain and then return to Mom's on the 2nd. There was so much to do...making sure that everyone was on the same page with regard to the memorial service, continuing to sort through as much as possible and deal with it now rather than later, trying to get some decent sleep in the midst of all this...the list goes on.… Continue

Your neighbor just might be a witch if....

When you pop next door for a chat, the kettle is always already on... Or as my great grandmother (Mal) used to say it's time to put the big & little kettle on... (at seven was puzzled a bit on how she always knew it was time) but as time went on the answer came clear more so...

You sometimes hear the sound of music, singing, dancing through the wall but if you look out of the window, it's usually a full moon.

You catch… Continue

Stone Sour - Bother - Song to go with my previous blog post.

Stone Sour - Bother

Wish I was too dead to cry

My self-affliction fades

Stones to throw at my creator

Masochists to which I cater

You don't need to bother;

I don't need to be

I'll keep slipping farther

But once I hold on,

I won't let go 'til it bleeds

Wish I was too dead to care

If indeed I cared at all

Never had a voice to protest

So you fed me… Continue

Magic and the Otherworlds

Magic is not merely part of this world. Magic is the conduit between worlds. Those worlds exist, but they are dependent on this one to define them, like life is created in this world and after death souls are taken to the underworld.

Magic is a conduit between worlds. As magic diminishes, those otherworlds, are not just more distant to us, but the power of those worlds,in this world, diminishes. The otherworlds have less influence, like a child who has grown and his/her parents have… Continue

Sometimes it's just over

I used to belong to a circle. I was in classes, did group rituals, and got to know a lot of different people. Then I caught the teacher/leader in a couple of lies and realized I was being used and not getting the help I needed. I was always told I was not ready. It wasn't time.

We were all solitaries, but came together in group for rituals. Which was fine....but after a while I noticed the group dynamic was changing and it was leaning more toward a coven type thing. However, when I… Continue

Walking the Red Road October 29

Walking the Red Road October 29

Marriage among my people was like traveling in a canoe. The man sat in front and paddled the canoe. The woman sat in the stern, but she steered.

Did You Know?

Catherinettes or the Feast of Saint Catherine

As she lay tortured n the wheel she was also beheaded. Legend has it that her soul was saved by an angel and brought straight to heaven. She was beatified and her feast day is celebrated on November 25th, just a week before… Continue
